Gloaming Walk
By Jay Albrecht
Copyright 2000 Jay Albrecht
A poem about reflections during an evening walk.

Strolling into sunset, green-gold haze,
we hold this evening in clasped hands,
Time burns our eyes,
senses warned by speeding night.
How leap to heaven
where absolution waits -
when our dreams are not magnificent,
melt to purple shadows.
We much for saviors,
though any god will do.
