Escape Into the Light
By Nathaniel Goldberg
Copyright 2000 Nathaniel Goldberg
A poem about the writer's plans for escape.

I will escape into the light
to lie here cocooned
by space and time,
up till morning seeps beneath
my doors with fingers of light
erasing every blackness
to glance through shutters
at a new world of daylight
stopping by
the wayside to savor the
sweet scent of new mown grass
and Lilacs
I shall travel to Paris
to renew old acquaintances.
When dawn appears
over rooftops,
peace and tranquility will prevail.
A time to celebrate
a time for whispers of a
new life.
I will revisit the Eiffel Tower
in the dark
to view the city of lights.
